Sharkfin's analysis is correct. The South emphasizes rhetorical flourish and courtesy whereas northern regions will be based more in research. Consider where your judge is from as well; sometimes you'll find yourself debating a team from Milwaukee with a judge from Oregon (particuarly at Nationals) where you'll have to be strong on all debate fundamentals.
My suggestion would be prepare across the board. Refine your presentation skills, rhetorical flourish, and
procure strong research. While it may sound rudimentary, ask for a judging philosophy and tailor your approach to the round accordingly. Some judges have a particuarly strong distate for topicality debates (my dad was one such judge when I competed) and knowing this among other tidbits will help you to tailor the round.
I wish you all the best!
