^ I love how *now* I'm figuring out how all these people looked at it/knew people who were looking at it.

Look up a guy named Brandon McWaters when you get there. Brandon was an NCFCAer back in the day. I don't know if he debates for them or not, but he's not a bad guy to know.

I'm going to State College of Florida (a community college with a fancy name) for another year to get my general AA and then transferring to Florida State University to pursue a major in meterorlogy. Cost efficiency for the win.

I decided to graduate a year early, considering I've accumulated all the credits needed. I'll be applying to Patrick Henry, Grove City, Hillsdale, and Auburn University.

Early graduation ftw! :)

I'm going to apply to PHC, Union University, and Covenant College. I'll probably end up at whichever one gives me the most money. ;)

What are you considering majoring in? With the number of PHC, Hillsdale, and GCCers floating around the forum, people might be able to actually give advice on how good the programs are.

My brother is a senior philosophy major at Covenant (I think I saw on another thread that you're looking into philosophy). He's really happy with their program. He likes a lot of their professors. I can probably get answers to questions, if you need me to...

I'm looking into government or political science, and I'm a huge fan of PHC's gov curriculum at the moment. I'd like to hear any comments on Hillsdale's or GCC's if anyone has them...

We don't have a government program.
Technically we don't have a poli sci program either. They changed the name two years ago to "Politics" for a myriad of very stupid reasons.

Anyways, my exposure to the politics program is limited to one or two professors (I haven't really gotten to that part of my major requirement yet), but what exposure I do have is excellent. None of them are particularly riveting speakers, but they are all very intelligent and genuinely care about their students. One of our history profs, Paul Rahe, occasionally teaches a politics course; he is a world-renowned scholar and one of the leading experts in ancient Greece. I have my class with him in a tad under an hour...always a highlight of the week.

One real advantage of our politics program is that, if you come four years, you can double major pretty easily. I'm actually one of only two people on the debate team who isn't doubt majoring. A politics degree with a BA in econ, philosophy, or history from Hillsdale is pretty dang impressive to employers. And you learn quite a bit, too.

Well, we're not as focused on government as PHC (I'm not sure any college is), but I've heard good stuff about our program. We've got some good poli sci professors and like Hillsdale, we make it easy for Poli Sci majors to double major. I've never gotten the impression that it's a top notch program, but it is a good program.
