i would say, don't revive it unless you have some new and interesting direction for the discussion. don't post in it and say "lol, yeah, i agree with everyone else". that's pointless.

One key purpose of posting in a thread is furthering discussion of the subject at hand. Often, resurrecting old threads serves as a barrier to discussion because it fills the thread with a lot of baggage that is not relevant to the current discussion. On the other hand, sometimes the old thread has an excellent trajectory of discussion which you do not want to lose, and it is best to revive the old thread. If a thread is a few months old, just ask yourself, "will the resulting discussion be better if I post in the old thread or start a new one?"

If there are one or two particularly great posts in an old thread, there is also nothing wrong with quoting those posts in your new thread to help get the new one going.
