about the pic you posted: yeah, 'cause holding a beer can on your stomach is really working out. And about the skiing, don't we poor people have a rough life?

W00t for biking! My younger bro and I do that on and off...depending on the weather (not ice, just temperature). Not really long either, usually only a mile or two...

And how long have you been doing this routine? I mean, we should be really impressed if you've been doing it for a few years, right? I guess I'm asking for some proof --> check the neverending pics thread

Yeah totally! Do you guys do any mountain biking? That is an awesome sport if there ever was one! (there was)

I'm working towards that. I tend to get out of shape during the winter though

As far as generic and cardio stuff: sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, etc.

I used to sprint a mile, walk a mile, run a mile, and walk a couple to cool down. Now(what with the winter and all) I walk to get to most things, which end up being just under 10 miles a day.

I casually engage in sports.

As for my out and about: walking/biking, (occasional)skating, Parkor, skateboarding, slower cross country stuff, corn-detasseling, etc. combined martial arts, single-stick fighting, ground acrobatics, tree-climbing, etc.

And I try to work in some weight lifting on occasion.

I intend to try to get back into sparring with a TKD/combined-ma's friend of mine, possibly introducing him to Parkor; and I hope to get a unicycle or a better board for the spring.

I avoid exercising whenever I can. If mom makes me go outside, I typically walk around the yard aimlessly until she says I can come back in. During the winter, at least.

During the summer, though, I do:
*Swimming (Lived in Florida, so I'm really good and people keep telling me to join a swim team.)
*Biking
*Skating
*Baseball (with my brothers. But I can't catch that darned ball with those gloves on.)
*Football (eh... I'm really good at it if I want to be, but who wants to be good at football? It's a pointless sport!)
*Hoolah hooping (I can do amazing tricks, but my brothers tell me it's not really exercise and I should play darts with them. And when I do, I cream them)

And... I guess you could say Lacrosse. I did it for one season to try it out, and it was the only sport I actually joined a league to do, but I didn't like it. I'm Independent for a reason.

I am involved in Karate and let me tell you they really make you work where I go.

I have also gotten involved in some ultimate frisbee. (just sprained my ankle day before yesterday) I wonder if there is such thing as professional UF. :)

^ There is. :)

I do some minor-end weights and tennis, but most of my exercise is sprinting and UF. Oh, and biking.

Okay...I can't even do a mile. Sorry. (I'm lame and out of shape, yes. I know.)

I'm thinking of taking up running this Spring/summer/fall. Anyone have any suggestions for a newbie? (I guess I'd have to get myself a pair of running shoes... :( )

I'm so out of shape, it's ridiculously sad. Every so often, I'lll randomly force myself to do some extreme exercise, but end up stopping before too long for various reasons. I actually love biking, but I no longer have a bike.

In all honesty, I like to exercise. But I too often lack the motivation and time to pull it off.

For awhile I was a massive slacker but now I'm back into the routine! I'm swimming between 40 - 60 laps almost daily anddd as soon as it gets a tiny bit warmer I'm going to bust out my bike and start that back up. I go for a little over 2hrs on the bike at about 16mph.

haha, I totally emphathize, I usually fall into the "too lazy to do exercise" right when school starts up...and then I see all my skinny friends again, and I get inspired real fast ;)

what's 3D soccer? I've never heard of it....
YES! I LOVE Enlish/Scottish/Contra dancing! It's so much fun! Yesterday night, in fact we had dancing and a bunch of debaters came after the tournie...it was SO much fun!

Nope. No mntn biking...our bikes are sort of old and cheap anyways and would probably break if we tried to do mountain biking. :) The closest we get to a mountain is tackling a rather large and long hill in our neighborhood...it gives you a good workout...

I've taken up racquetball in the past several months. I also lift weights every now and then.

*sigh* To live in a hilly region again. When I lived in CA there was a pretty nice trail literally a mile away from my house (sorry Gumbo, but that's a really short distance :)). Unfortunately, there's no mountains to bike in Nebraska, so my bike is banished to gathering dust in the basement and occasionally being ridden to work.

racquetball's cool too...just not my thing. I tried playing it once with one of my friends...I FAIL.

yeah, a mile really is short, esp while riding a bike. Hilly regions are fun for biking in...if you have a decent bike (unlike myself who's bike's brakes hardly work and who's chain keeps coming off the gears- I think I need a new bike ;))

Oh, oops. Referenced the wrong person. Whatever.

Yeah, mountain biking is epic if:
1) You have a good bike (which I do)
2) You know what you're doing (which I do)
3) It's over 65 degrees

I do a five day split workout which basically puts me on the field for practices twice a week, and in the gym on the off days, with a couple of rest days. Yeah, I'm pretty much in the gym all the time....

I am joining Tae Kwon Do later this month. My brother and his children go 3-5 nights a week. I'll probably aim for 4.

I joined them for one session, and it darn near killed me. =p
